All funds will be processed through Handbid using a credit card. Offline payments (e.g. cash or check) will not be accepted. If you have won the item for an amount larger than you want to pay by credit card, you may contact Colorado Plates directly to discuss alternative payment options.
The Colorado Disability Funding Committee has not made any representations regarding whether all or part of a winning bid amount is eligible for a tax deduction or tax credit under any state or federal law.
If you are the winning bidder of a license plate, the day the auction closes will be the first day of the ownership period.
If you are the winning bidder for a license plate configuration, you are allowed to transfer the plate configuration to any person of your choosing upon the completion of the payment. At no other time during the lifecycle of your plate configuration ownership shall the plate configuration be transferred.
If you do not pay within 7 days of the close of the auction, the Committee will cancel your bid and offer the plate configuration to the next highest bidder. If the next highest bidder declines, the plate configuration will be removed and placed in a future auction.
A winning bidder or gift recipient is not required to register the plate configuration to a vehicle during the period of ownership.
If you choose to select a group special or alumni license plate type from among those authorized by the Department, then you must comply requirements, payment of required donations, and payment of any fees, before the Department will issue a group special or alumni license plate with the registration number. Also, any graphics or logos that usually appear on such a plate type may not appear on the license plate issued by the Department.
If you fail to take possession of the personalized license plate configuration within thirteen months of the license plate’s being made available by the Department, the license plate configuration will return to the Department. Under these circumstances, the plate configuration will then be allowed to be placed in a future auction by the Colorado Disability Funding Committee.
